Violet Henry

Violet Henry

Violet S. Henry, 103, of Hilo, died March 28 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Waialua, Oahu, she was a principal for the former Piihonua School, retired as principal of Haaheo School and was a member of Kamauloa O Ka Malamalama Church of Kurtistown, Grandmother’s Club, Upper Kukuau Kumiai, Hawaii Government Employees Association and Retired Teachers Association.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. April 18 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 10 a.m. April 19 at Homelani Memorial Park for a graveside committal service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by sons, Lorrin (Hiilani) Henry and Lloyd (Franell) Henry, both of Hilo; daughter, Lavanda (Andrew) Warren, of Kurtistown; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Shigeyo Miyasaki

Shigeyo Miyasaki, 94, of Hilo, formerly of Paauilo, died March. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. on April 19 at Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin for an 11 a.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn and flowers be omitted.

She is survived by son, Warren (Jane) Miyasaki, of Hilo; daughters, Joan (George) Masaki and Karen Kato, both of Pearl City, Oahu, June (Robert) Asato and Lorna Miyasaki, of Mililani, Oahu, Harriet (Steve) Miyasaki, of Honolulu, and Thelma (Francis) Ryusaki, of Waimea; brothers, George (Ruth) Muramaru and Tsuneo (Betty) Muramaru, both of Honolulu, and Sadao (Sue) Muramaru, of Paauilo; sisters, Hisayo Goto, of Aiea, Oahu, and Asayo (Nobuo) Hirayama, of Redondo Beach, Calif.; 15 grand children; five great-grandchildren.

Sixto Padamada Jr.

Sixto C. Padamada Jr., 61, of Hilo, formerly of Kurtistown, died April 2 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a Navy veteran, saxophonist with the Hawaii County Band and a member of the Lions Club.

Friends may call at 6 p.m. April 19 at Hilo Church of God for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. April 20 at the church for an 11 a.m. service. Burial follows at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by sons, Sixto (Melody) Padamada III, of Maui, Jhonross (Absity Carvalho-Cuba) Padamada, of Pahoa, Eisenhower Padamada, of San Diego; daughters, Brenda Padamada, of Hilo, Jane Padamada, of Pahoa; two grandchildren; numerous cousins.

Jenniferlyn Bunch

Jenniferlyn Kealalaumoani Bunch, 56, of Kealakekua, died March 24 at her residence. Born Sept. 30, 1955, in Kealakekua, she was housekeeper at the Kona Billfisher’ condominium and member of the Lindsey and Haleamau Ohana.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. April 20 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona. Family requests casual attire be worn. Flowers are welcome.

She is survived by daughters, Natasha Bunch and Jimmeylyn Bunch, both of Kealakekua; hanai sons, Thomasmichael Villanueva and Weston Gaddis, both of Kealakekua; father, Thomas Lindsey of Kalaoa; brother, Michael (Helen) Lindsey, of Holualoa; hanai brother, Conrad Haleamau, of Kalaoa; sisters, Anna (Dennis) Villanueva, of Kailua-Kona, Alice (Bobby) Gaddis, of Louisville, Ohio; two hanai grandchildren; two uncles; three aunts; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Theresa Hanohano

Theresa Ann Hanohano, 60, of Hilo, died April 9 at her residence in Keaukaha. Born in Kodiak, Alaska, she was a program analyst for the Army.

She is survived by husband, Charles Hanohano Jr., of Hilo; sons, Charles Hanohano III, of California, Kaulu (Cate) Hanohano, of Hilo; daughters, Heidi (Ryan) Haili, Donna Hanohano and Ke-alohi Hanohano, all of Hilo; mother, Donna Corbett, of Oregon; brother, James Corbett, of Mississippi; sister, Sherry Money, of Mississippi; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
